‘Kings’ of the earth gather in Jerusalem

Ninety foreign dignitaries representing 70 nations gathered in Jerusalem to pay their final respects to the last of Israel’s founding fathers – 93-year-old Shimon Peres. The portion of Scripture read in synagogues all over the world this week clearly depicted the scene.

Israel: Population nears 9 million

Israelis will welcome in Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, with the population topping 8.9 million, according to the Population and Immigration Authority’s report.
