The tiny clay artifact with inscription “Pure for God”, recently discovered at an archaeological dig in Jerusalem, was originally classified as a tool to mark ritually pure objects brought for sacrifice, during the Second Temple period. Hebrew University scholar Prof. Shlomo Naeh, however offers an entirely different explanation.
